The Stewardship Principle of
Tithing and Offerings
Matthew 25: 14-30
Malachi 3:8-12
A delightsome land or cursed with a curse?
What a tithe is:
A tenth means tenth.
Tithing is a first fruit principle:
Abraham gave tithes of all.
A directive, command, not an option for the child of God.
The question: Gross or Net
Your tithe is not just 10% of your increase.
Tithing is a principle that has its roots in faith.
It is good to have knowledge, but knowledge alone cannot save. Only knowledge applied can save (James 2:19).
The tithe belongs to the Lord:
Tithing is a principle of paying not giving.
Tithing should be brought into the church, your local church (The house of the Lord).
Offerings:
Jesus stood by the treasury and watched, he commented she had given more than all the rest (Mark 12: 41-44).
The stewardship principle in giving:
The non-tither, inconsistent tither, consistent tither:
Thief?
Rebuke the devourer!
Cast not fruit before the time.
Borrowing against your tithe:
Where do we go from here?
